Breadhead Alice: Process

Hey there young game dev to be!

One thing you learn as a games artist, I've found, is that most of your work is gonna end up on the cutting room floor.

And you know what? That's fine! No one strikes gold on their first dig, and games are often a group effort. So I thought I'd put things in perspective by showing a teeny tiny fraction of the ridiculous amount of discarded drawings I did while working on Breadhead Alice.

I'm always unearthing thumbnails, sketches and scripts in my sketchbooks and hard drives. I chose to focus on characters here because they are the most important aspect of this project. These doodles range from traditional media to digital and took me anywhere from 5 minutes to a few hours.

In the end though, they helped me make Breadhead Alice, and I'm grateful for that.

I'll keep adding interesting notes and doodles as I unearth them. The only thing I won't share here is my scripts. If you want to hear the story, you'll just have to ask me in person!
